"Udolpho" is the third single from Goth Professor's forthcoming debut, Gothic Lofi Beats to Broodingly Bob Your Head to, an album filled with swirling Mellotron choirs, filtered Solina string sounds, echoing chamber instruments, and haunting analog synths sweep across overdriven 808s, downsampled drum kits, and fuzzy basses and guitars. Disembodied voices from samples and original vocal recordings punctuate the atmosphere with impressionistic vocal phrases. A colleague from the anthropology department reports, "It's like the Phantasm soundtrack but with some bounce to it." "Gothic Lofi" is what happens when your Gothic literature professor spins too much DJ Shadow, Boards of Canada, Soft Moon, and Dead Can Dance while reading his special editions of Radcliffe and Walpole.
